Dig & Fill Lake Michigan

There are two ways to create lakes in World Contruction Set. The simple way is to raise the sea level to the surface elevation of your lakes. The second, more realistic way digs a lake bed and fills it with water using a lake effect. This method was used to simulate Lake Michigan. Waves of various amplitudes, lengths and sources increase the realism. Some user can set other variables including: colors for deep vs. shallow water, location and height of breakers, reflections, and bottom material and roughness. Most of these variables can be set separately for each lake in the scene. However, waves are a global variable. Therefore, creating waves on Lake Michigan results in the same wave pattern on all the inland lakes.
