Input Locations & Create Roads and Houses

The roads, driveways and house locations are based on Ozaukee County CAD coverages supplemented by orthophoto data.

Terraffector effects were applied to both the roads and driveways. These effects create raised, smoothed terrain for the road and driveway beds with ditches simulated along the sides of the roads. Ecosystems are assigned to each portion of the road cross-section (called a "profile"). For example, a two-lane road image (texture) simulates the pavement while grass is assigned to the adjacent ditches.

All houses in this scene rely on the same 3D house model. To increase the realism, this model is rotated in one of eight different directions (north, northeast, east, etc.) based on the location of the road. House foundation footprints were used to determine the appropriate scale of the houses. Locations are set by point vectors indicating the centers of the structures.
